This year marks the 50th anniversary of the invention of the first laser. On June 4th, in the spirit of celebrating this extraordinary accomplishment NAALT is proud to host a pre-conference seminar on "Introduction to Laser and Laser Therapy" presented by Dr. Lars Hode of Sweden and Steve Liu of Tucson, Arizona. Dr. Hode is the co-author of one of the most authoritative books in the modern low-intensity laser therapy - "Laser Therapy: Clinical Practice and Scientific Background". Steve was an electrical engineer involved in laser driver design for an optical disk drive in the Silicon Valley before he became a licensed acupuncturist. Currently he is the president of NAALT.

In this highly informative 4-hour seminar Steve will discuss laser's history, it's physics, the technology, and it's endless applications in the first hour. Then Lars will present topics in laser therapy: 1) Lasers give health and beauty 2) How dangerous are lasers? 3) The dose - Can we make the complicated simple? 4) Indications and contraindications - What is real? 5) How deep does laser light penetrate? 6) What do we know about the mechanisms?
